Common questions and answers...

HOW DO I PURCHASE A LYON HILLS PUPPY?

We want to get to know you. So first things first, contact us! Then complete our questionnaire/survey to enable us to choose the best fit for your lifestyle. Once received we will determine if we have the perfect pup for you. If we do not have a litter available you will go on our wait list and be contacted when the next confirmed litter is available. When pups become available we will send our puppy contract and ask for a deposit to hold your place. At no time do we hold a puppy without a non-refundable deposit. We want to know your committed. Our litters are planned for a purpose, to better the breed.  At Lyon Hills we have one or two litters per year. We are always breeding for our next prodigy. One, maybe two pups each litter, stay with us at Lyon Hills or are co-owned to pre-selected & pre-approved show homes. Puppies will be sold on an AKC Limited Registration unless otherwise approved.  We prefer PET homes and will only sell to show/breeding homes that have been fully vetted and approved.  We DO NOT accept credit cards, Paypal or Cashier's checks.  We accept USPS Money orders & cash ONLY as payment, in accordance with AKC a Bill of Sale is issued with any purchase.  A signed & notarized contract and full purchase price will be required before we will release a puppy.

DO YOU OFFER SHIPPING?

Yes. Paw Prints International is our only approved pet transport nanny. Luciana, of Paw Prints International, has a passion for dogs. You can contact her for pricing at the link provided above or by phone @ (313) 618-8004. She fly's pups in cabin (mostly on her lap) and is trusted by us. She is a special person with a heart of gold. Of course it is preferred you pick up your puppy in person. Many individuals have found it to be most beneficial financially to fly in and pick up their new ddb puppy and either rent a car to drive home or fly back with their pup in cabin.

CAN I PICK OUT THE PUPPY I WANT?

Short answer is no. However there is a method for this reasoning. To help you get the dog you want and most well matched, we use the Volhard puppy aptitude test which is amazingly accurate in predicting inherited behavioral tendencies and how the puppy will turn out as an adult. We do this test at 7 weeks of age as recommended. At 8 weeks we do a formal evaluation of structure. After that, the results and recommendations are made available to those waiting on the puppy list and then we individually pick out each puppy with each owner. The perfect 'match' is what we strive for. Click here to learn more about Volhard Puppy Aptitude Testing.

DO YOU HAVE A PUPPY HEALTH GUARANTEE?

Our guarantee is up to your puppies first birthday. Should your puppy die from a documented genetic disorder within this time we will replace your puppy or refund the purchase price.
Because there has not been a definitive scientific causation of hip and elbow dysplasia, and the jury is still out as to if it is caused by genetic heredity, improper diet, exercise and environment and/or both we do not offer a hip or elbow guarantees. The guarantee is covered more extensively in your puppy contract.
